DISC service & support - helping you meet all of your archive needs

Should the need ever arise, our service & support department assists you to manage, maintain and protect your archives - DISC automated libraries typically serve numerous users who depend on continuous availability of the library for direct access to data - thus providing you with a strategic and competitive advantage.

Renowned for superior product quality, DISC Optical library reliability and our support services are recognized world-wide. Our team, aided by our DISC diagnostics methods and equipment, form a powerful unit to ensure the highest possible availability of your archives.

In order to meet customer requirements for high data availability, end user installations should be covered by a service contract. DISC offers nationwide service at different service levels, detailed on our Maintenance page.

Customer satisfaction

Service & support is the cornerstone of DISC and we recognize that your satisfaction ensures our success and reputation. Customers are always welcome to contact the DISC Customer Support Department during regular business hours. Our nationwide service partner will serve your individual needs as confirmed in your service contract.

DISC Service is provided by the coordinated efforts of DISC technical support engineers and service partners whose field engineers quickly respond to calls with onsite support. In addition, DISC service partners provide a logistics network for stocking and delivering parts and a service call management system for round-the-clock entry and tracking, field dispatch and service operations coordination.

Since customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us we conduct on-going service & support evaluations to maintain our desired level of customer satisfaction. To ensure this we provide comprehensive sales and technical training that help to identify and meet customer demands and needs. All DISC support is handled centrally at out head office in Germany. This way we ensure consistency throughout our global endeavours, and you receive the best service possible.

Qualified media

DISC as the Archive Provider has a major interest to have only qualified archival grade media used together with the DISC libraries. Therefore DISC together with its technology partners check various media brands for their general qualification to be reliable enough for long term archiving purposes. Currently DISC recommends the following media:

  • DVD-R (minus R General Type only): Panasonic, TDK, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, Sony
  • DVD-RAM: Verbatim, Maxell
  • BD-R 25/50GB: Panasonic, Sony, TDK
  • BD-RE 25/50GB: Panasonic, Sony
